Astrophotography, 2009
from the series Solar Maximum

This shot was meant to seem like the subject matter was literally baking in sunlight, similar to something one might find at a large salt flat. The sharp shadows directly underneath indicate noon day light. I was particular to choose an old truck as something more interesting than a less personal and more contemporary vehicle, and because I knew the sun refracting on the side of the vehicle would look neat on something a bit more worn. This is meant to depict the tricky process of documenting or watching the sun's disk from an astronomical standpoint, perhaps during something of note, such as an eclipse, a prominence, or during the solar maximum.
