“My work is currently exploring getting to know objects. Through arranging and photographing still lifes, performing small gestures captured with video, or modifying found objects, I learn about objects with my hands and body.”
Alison Postma is an artist based in Toronto, Ontario. She studied art at the University of Guelph and graduated in 2016. In 2015, she received the AIMIA/AGO Photography Prize Scholarship. Since graduating, she has participated in local Toronto residencies and group shows, as well as showing work nationally and internationally. Her work is primarily photographic, but also often incorporates video and sculptural elements. Her work deals a lot with the unconscious, the translation of objects from three to two dimensions, and – recently – art handling materials and processes.
The prints you receive are archival, photographic prints on a semi-matte paper with a longevity of 100+ years under normal light conditions.
Each print ships with a Certificate of Authenticity signed by the artist, which serves as proof your artwork is a bonafide member of its limited edition. You should keep this in a safe place.
