Carly Tan is a budding Vancouver-based artist, and creative entrepreneur whose passions include running multiple e-commerce businesses. Raised in Southeast Asia as a ‘Third Culture Kid’ with a diverse family background, Carly aims to brings her unique worldview into her work. Self-taught as a graphic designer, illustrator, and portrait photographer, Carly’s style and expression across each medium is exploratory and ever-changing; ranging from dark and nostalgic to colourful and child-like. The latter expression being a major focal point in her current series of collections – created in late 2020/early 2021 with the desire of bringing levity to hard times through the use of playful colourways, easy flowing lines, and simplicity in design.
The Boho Rainbow Arch prints fuse together the honesty and simplicity of the midcentury modern arch and the boldness of thick lines and circles. Together, they are both minimalist and maximalist.
