The 3200 student Germantown High School in Philadelphia opened in 1915, and stayed open until 2013. When it closed, it had fewer than 700 students and was one of 37 schools to close at the same time. Throughout the school signs of its past use remained, from lockers and inspirational posters in the hallways, to the theatre with costumes behind the curtain. While the building has been purchased by a developer, there has been no indication as to what they plan to do with the building.
